Our History
King’s Home provides long-term, residential shelter, services, love, hope, and opportunity for abused youth, moms, and children in need. The program began in 1973 when “Bethany” Home was opened for homeless women. The King’s Ranch for abandoned, neglected and abused youth was founded in 1976, and Hannah Home for abused women and children was opened in the 1980s.
In 1998, Hannah Homes merged with The King’s Ranch and is known today as King’s Home, Inc. continuing to serve “at-risk” populations escaping domestic violence and other extreme and impoverished conditions and circumstances.
In the Spring of 2014, King’s Home acquired Alabama Youth Homes. Now owning/operating 21 homes on six campuses in four Alabama Counties, King’s Home continues with its mission and purpose to provide hope and healing to abused youth, women, and children.
